After my recent trip to Paris, I was able to find loads of French beauty products at the Parisian pharmacies located on almost every corner. I had a list in mind of top products French women swear by. Beauty and skincare has always been a love of mine and when I booked my trip to Paris, I knew I had to stock up!
Some background info on my skin type: combo to oily, acne prone but in need of a good moisturizer!
A few brands on my list were Avene, Nuxe, and La Roche Posay.
Here is a list of the products I purchased:
Avene
1. Cicalfate Repair Cream - for sensitive, irritated skin
This stuff is magic! (Only 7euro for the tube) It is basically a multipurpose cream that you can apply on dry patches, razor burn, chapped lips, dry cuticles, basically anywhere! It has a creamy consistency, yet absorbs pretty quickly. I have been pretty sick the past couple of days and it really helped the dry areas around my nose!
2. Cleanance EXPERT emulsion - for acne prone skin
This is part of my daily skincare routine. I use this product everyone morning as my post-serum, pre-moisturizer acne treatment. If you struggle with oily skin, this is amazing for you. It controls the sebum production and actually works as a great makeup primer as it holds down the shine. I always apply a moisturizer afterwards since it doesn't give off any moisturizing qualities (since it helps stop the oils). 17euro
3. TriAcneal EXPERT - for stubborn imperfections and residual marks
This is also part of my daily skincare routine. I basically use this product in the same way I use the Cleanance EXPERT, except I use this at night. This product is only supposed to be used at night since it has an exfoliating retinol aid to it. I have noticed really great improvement with the acne scaring on my cheek area. Again, I always apply a moisturizer after this to lock in the product and give me extra moisture. 20 euro
LA ROCHE-POSAY
1. EFFACLAR - unclogging purifying sego-controlling mask with anti-shine
This mask is sooo good! It is formulated with gentle clays, eliminates excess sebum and invisible impurities such as pollution or dust. This helps skin stay matte and less oily for longer once it has cleansed the pores. I apply this right after the shower when my pores are open as my first step to my skincare routine but only about 2 or 3 times a week. I keep it on for about 5 to 10 minutes then rinse. I really feel the deep clean feeling and I love how it claims to remove all the pollution from your skin since I have been living in a city! 14 euro
2. Deodorant Physiologique 24H - anti oder anti humidity
I was on the hunt for a natural deodorant and once I heard that French pharmacies are full of them I was so excited. There were many to choose from but this brand seems to be reliable and I absolutely love it! The deodorant smells better than I expected it to and it lasts so long! I have tried natural deodorants before which ended up failing on me, but this one really works! I definitely recommend if you are on the lookout for a natural deodorant. 7 euro
NUXE
1. Huile Prodigieuse - Multipurpose dry oil face, body, hair
OMG who even was I before using this product?! This is by far my number one product I recommend from the French beauty world. The luxurious glass spray bottle just makes the experience so much better. It is basically a dry oil that you can apply everywhere. I use it after the shower on my entire body, a spritz on my face, and two sprays in my hair. This is the best stuff on earth! It is a little pricey at about 28-30euro for a small bottle but it's so worth it. The smell reminds me of Bobbi Brown Beach but with more of an argan oily scent. Since it is a dry oil, it does not leave you feeling slick. It absorbs into the skin so fast and my skin has seriously never felt softer!! My hair falls so smoothly now I rarely ever brush it after applying this right out of the shower. 10/10 recommend!
2. NUXE Reve de Miel Stick Levres Hydratant Lip Moisturizing Stick
One of my beauty bloggers had this as a must have on their list of French beauty items and it seriously is! It's just as good as the oil, but for your lips! The scent is amazing, reminds me of a sweet clementine. It is the one lip balm I own that actually stays on my lips for more than 20 mins and makes your lips feel soooo smooth! 7euro
BIODERMA
1. Sensibio H2O Micellaire Solution
Basically the best micellar water on the market. If you haven't heard of this, I highly recommend. I know a lot of American brands are trying to mimic this product but nothing compares. It takes off every last bit of waterproof makeup with one cotton pad! I use this day and night even if I am not wearing makeup to make sure my skin is clear of dirt before starting my skin care. I bought a backup in France since it is cheaper there eve though I already have a bottle! Only 10euro
CAUDALIE
1. Beauty Elixir - smoothing, glowing complexion
This is pretty popular in the states, but I wanted to try it since it was a lot cheaper in Paris. I actually bought mine in the Caudalie store in the Louvre which I think is a pretty cool memory to have while misting this on my face lol. The smell is almost sweet-minty fresh and leaves your pores feeling tight. The only thing I do not like about this product is that alcohol is the second ingredient but it claims to only use natural perfumes and fruit extracts. I don't think I need to repurchase this as I have tons of facial mists, but I definitely like the way it feels after I complete my skincare and mist this all over. 1oz-6euro
I also thought I'd mention I bought a mini rose hand cream which makes my hands feel great! I would recommend if you need a good hand cream for your bag! :)
XO,
Cierra
