Second stop: Amsterdam
This may have been one of my favorite cities I have ever been to! I could literally see myself living there one day. We were there from Oct. 22-24. The shopping was unlike anything I have seen before. There wasn't many zara and h&m's as it was more boutique shops with such cute clothes, I wanted to buy everything! A few of my favorite stores I visited were Circle of Trust, Velour, The Sting, Scotch & Soda, and Episode. Night one we decided to go to an Ice Bar, which was a COOL experience but def a tourist trap LOL. Our first full day was so much fun. We ate at a super cute brunch place and went shopping along the way. We also stopped at the I Amsterdam sign which is a lot smaller than you think. Amsterdam doesn't have it's own traditional food except for their stroopwafles which are the best things ever. They are two thin waffles held together by caramel! AMAZING! I bought myself a pack and some fresh juice at a local market. The weather was the coldest out of all places and rained a lot but the city was so beautiful it did not matter. The canals and all the bikes made it such a unique place.
I caved and bought myself a vintage Louis while on my trip here. I happened to venture off from everyone and take advantage of the shopping. There was a vintage consignment shop that had the most perfect Louis Vuitton wallet and I could not resist and at such a good price! I also did some damage at Scotch and Soda :) .
One of the best memories I have of Amsterdam is visiting the Anne Frank House. I bought tickets for Katherine and I a month before so we could ensure our spot. I was reading her book before we went so I could remember what she was like. The craziest thing happened while we were visiting....while we were walking through the house and just about to entire the secret bookcase that hid the Secret Annex, the power went out. Everything went completely black and I swear to you it was some sort of ghost...So we had to finish walking through the house by the light of our iPhones which made the experience almost seem even more real. Overall, I still can't get over how cool and fun this city was. NO shopping in the world compares to Amsterdam and I already can't wait to go back!
